220,000 Pfizer Doses Ordered For Ages 12 To 17

220,000 Pfizer vaccines have been ordered for 110,000 children between the ages of 12 and 17 years.
Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Dr James Fong yesterday said the ministry was awaiting more clarity for children under the ages of 12 years old for COVID-19 vaccinations.
He said some Moderna vaccines have been given to some children ages 15 to 17.
“We are looking at ensuring that we cover the 110,000 or so individuals between 12 and 17 and once that is done and Pfizer is approved, I am hoping we will get clarity about the younger age group under 12 because America has already endorsed Pfizer for five years,” Dr Fong said.
“The fact that we have already done some of the 15 to 17 age group with Moderna vaccine means that we have those doses to the younger age group, if we get the authorisation to do it.”
The vaccination programme for children will resume on October 4.
