Popular Radio Personality Arrested In Alleged Drug Discovery

A radio personality from Communications Fiji Limited’s Viti FM Station was arrested by Police on Tuesday afternoon following the discovery of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that on Tuesday afternoon a media personality, a student in his 20s and another man were arrested in Newtown in Nasinu.
Ms Naisoro said Police officers had conducted a search in their vehicle, and this led to the discovery of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil.
She said Police then went on to search the home of the radio personality and more discoveries were made which include dried leaves and plants believed to be marijuana.
Ms Naisoro said the seized substances, which were dried leaves and plants, had been sent for analysis.
She said the three men remained in custody and charges would be laid once the analysis of the plants was completed.
