Human Rights lawyer Sabrina Khan-Sharma is continuing her letter writing project for families around the world who continue to suffer in silence.

Ms Sharma started her letter writing project four years ago reaching out to families and individuals who were affected by the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand, the California synagogue shooting and the Sri Lankan church shooting in 2019.

Her latest letter writing project was for individuals and their families of the unfortunate shooting that unfolded last week at Tennesse, Memphis, in the United States of America.

Before taking his own life the gunman killed an elderly woman and caused serious injuries to several others.

“In unfortunate times like these we must come together as a community to reach out to those in need no matter where in the world we may be located,” she said.

When questioned on the purpose of continuing her project, she said it had always brought about a sense of peace to her.

“There is already a lot of pain and suffering in our world and it is important to plant seeds of kindness and compassion, especially in unfortunate times like these.

“This helps us to keep focused on hope, faith and the love of God in times of grief. These letters seek to support and uplift others and to let them know that people out there care about what they’re going through.”

She expressed her condolences to those affected by the ordeal.

For those who want to get involved, letters or handmade cards can be sent to:

The employees of Kroger Supermarket, 240 New Byhalia Road, Collierville, TN 38017, USA or The Kroger Shooting Survivors, Regional One Health Medical Center, 877 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103, USA.
