6,040 New COVID-19 Recoveries Reported In The Last 24 Hours

6,040 New COVID-19 Recoveries Reported In The Last 24 Hours

6,040 new COVID-19 recoveries were reported over the 24 hours period that ended at 8am yesterday.

In his daily update last night, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Permanent Secretary Dr James Fong said the 6040 recoveries reported meant there were now 2,864 active cases.

Dr Fong added that a total of 51,328 cases was recorded in Fiji since the first case was reported in March 2020, with 47,291 recoveries.

“We are currently reviewing and reconciling our active case database with deaths and recoveries and as a result, we expect the death and recovery numbers to intermittently change as verifications are made,” he said.

55 cases of COVID-19 was recorded as of 8am yesterday with nine deaths.

The nine COVID-19 deaths was from the period of July 17, 2021 to October 3, 2021.

He said eight COVID-19 deaths were reported from the Central Division and one death from the Western Division.
