His story is an emotional one to tell.

These were the sentiments shared by Vani Naisogo when speaking during the funeral service of her late friend and neighbour, Seru Ratudradra at Tomuka, Lautoka yesterday.

The 35-year-old drowned near Savala Island during a diving trip while accompanied by two others on September 30.

Ms Naisogo said in the small community of Tomuka, he was known as the quiet boy with a golden heart.

“The first time I heard when he passed away I recalled that every morning when I would wake up, I would watch him be with his wife early in the morning, in the afternoon when he would be done from fishing, he would go and pick up his wife from wherever she was.

“He was a loving husband and a humble person to everyone.”

Seru is survived by his wife, Mele.

He was buried at the Tavakubu Cemetery.
