Tavioka Growers Association has launched its locally-produced cassava flour.

Now available at Kundan Singh supermarkets, the flour is selling for $8.95 a kilogramme.

During the launch of the product, Tavioka Growers Pte Ltd board chairman Taito Tabaleka acknowledged the support from farmers and stakeholders.

For farmers who joined as members of the association and have been planting tavioka, the launch of the value-added product is a milestone, he said.

The launch was carried out virtually, via the association’s Facebook page.

“Most importantly, to the farmers who have joined as members of the association and have been planting the tavioka, this is the value-add product,” he said.

Tavioka Growers Association was launched last year in Suva.

Membership of the association has also increased to include members in the West and Northern Divisions.

Tavioka Growers Association aims to make other by-products from cassava.
