6139 New Voter Registrations: FEO

The Fijian Elections Office has so far recorded 6139 new voter registrations for the 2022 General Election.

While giving an update of the National Voter Registration Drive which began on Monday October 4th, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said they have recorded 33,665 engagements as of 4pm, Saturday.

Due to the huge voter turnout, FEO had to train and deploy additional staff.

From the initial five teams that were deployed, they now have 27 teams spread out all over the country.

They have also received 134 requests for direct home visits and 94 appointments for Business Houses registration drive which will serve 8696 voters.

Voter registration for businesses will be conducted by 50 teams.

The FEO is currently facilitating the name change of seven individuals after the successful change of name for three voters last week.

They are also planning to opening offices in Korovou.
