Fiji Muslim League has expressed gratitude to the Government for creating the environment to ease COVID-19 restrictions.

After six months since the Fiji Muslim League closed all its mosque, families will be able to gather to mark Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday.

Iman (head priest) Maulana Abdul Alim said the mosques had been closed because of COVID-19 since April 19 during the month of Ramadan. He said this year the Fiji Muslim League has organised national celebrations for limited number of participants at Hexagon Event Centre-Davuilevu, Nausori.

He said: “The Fiji Muslim League has been actively involved with distribution of food packs from the beginning of pandemic among the needy families and we hope to continue with this. All Fiji Muslim League Mosques will hold prayers and programme on a smaller scale keeping in mind the COVID protocols,” Maulana Alim said.

He added that the commemoration of the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was marked annually around the globe.

This was emphasised on the holy teachings and that the life of a Muslims revolve around the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which gave them an avenue to renew and reflect their lives and daily activities.

“The Fiji Muslim League requests all its members to seriously act upon the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”
