Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has commended the medical teams in the Yasawa Islands for their effort in providing COVID-19 vaccination and awareness to the people.

Dr Waqainabete who concluded his tour to the various command centres and health facilities in Yasawa on Saturday said the health team have been to Yasawa twice, since the COVID-19 outbreak.

He said medical teams were focussing on the Yasawa Islands as this was a key area that tourists normally visit.

Dr Waqainabete said he was pleased that the vaccination rate for the Mamanuca Islands and Malolo Island has improved.

Yesterday, Dr Waqainabete travelled around Viti Levu and was expected to be in Korovou, Vunidawa and Navosa with the vaccination teams.
