1000 Plus Package Bookings In 8 Days

Great news for the tourism industry and local economy.
Just eight days after the announcement by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on the resumption of international travel by Fiji Airways in December, they have received more than 1000 bookings for the holiday packages.
Speaking to the Fiji Sun yesterday, Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen said they have had an enormous influx of bookings and enquiries from Australia.
“Bookings for our extremely good value holiday packages have trended upwards sharply in less than 10 days – from just seven bookings on Day One to more than 1000 yesterday (Monday), just eight days after the Prime Minister announced the reopening of Fiji’s borders,” Mr Viljoen said.
“These are bookings from just our Australian friends, and make up about 90 per cent of the overall bookings for Fiji Airways flights and Fiji Airways Holidays packages
“Our tourism industry is very excited to give our international visitors a big Bula welcome from December 1.”
Mr Viljoen said it was wonderful to see so many Australian tourists taking advantage of Fiji’s holiday package deals which are up to 45 per cent more affordable than 2019 rates.
Fiji Airways looks forward to its first commercial flight from Sydney to Fiji on December 1.
