State To Consolidate Abuse Of Office Case

State prosecutors will consolidate charges in two cases involving three Police officers charged with Abuse of Office.

They are constables Jesoni Dranivesi, Eloni Marakeiwai and Saula Musukanasa and appeared before Magistrate Waleen George yesterday.

On Saturday March 14, 2020 they allegedly raided LB Masters in Cumming Street, Suva, and demanded money from the complainant which they successfully got $1500 by way of threats.

Magistrate George advised the State to file a Notice of Motion with supporting affidavits explaining the reasons for consolidation.

They were given 14 days to do so and the matter has been adjourned to November 8 for mention.

The men were also advised to lodge their applications for Legal Aid Commission counsel.

Their bail has been extended.
