Fisherman Offers $1000 reward To Catch Thief

Fisherman, Ashok Kumar is offering a $1000 reward to anyone who would help him catch the culprit that stole his boat and engine two weeks ago in Nausori.

Mr Kumar claimed that it was the fourth time this has happened to him in the past two years.
He however recovered his boat but the engine valued at $20,000 is still missing along with fishing nets.

A report was lodged at the Nausori Police Station.

Meanwhile, last year his boat and engine were also stolen but the good work from the Fiji Police Force led to the recovery of both.

Mr Kumar said the boat and the engine were purchased through an initiative by the Ministry of Fisheries.

Cash Reward

The Nabilo, Tailevu man said he provides four jobs and “such actions are not only affecting me but the families of the people that I employ.”

“That is why, I am now offering a cash re- ward. This is my livelihood and I work hard to earn my living.”

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed a report was lodged and investigations are continuing.
