The Yasana o Ba Youth (YoBa) International has organised a clothing and linen drive to assist the Veilomani Boys Home as part of their community project.

The Veilomani Boys Home also located in Ba is occupied by 22 boys ranging from the ages of 11 to 19.

Ba Youth president Alfred Antonio said the drive was from October 24 and ends on October 29.

The youth groups hope to reach out to members of the public who may be willing to donate and engage in the charity project for the Veilomani Boys Home.

“VBH (Veilomani Boys Home) had been on our list for potential charity projects for some time. Our Project Liaison Officers reached out to their Superintendent Reverend Wame Boseilawa and he gave us a list of things they need assistance with, clothing and linen being one of their more urgent needs.”

“We thought it would be more beneficial to engage the general public in this charity project, and extend the invitation to our friends, family, supporters to help us help the less fortunate at Veilomani Boys Home,” he said.

Mr Antonio said people have begun reaching out and offering to donate clothes and linen for the drive.

“Other things that could be donated are books, toys, sports equipment (rugby/soccer/volleyballs), mats, brooms, etc. that we will deliver to Veilomani Boys Home on October 30, 2021.”

Veilomani Boys Home Superintendent Reverend Wame Boseilawa said the timely assistance would help the boys at the home.

YoBa has done four charity projects namely the Abaca village food and toiletries drive for 30 households, food, toiletries, gardening tools and seed donation to the Loloma Home in Sabeto, ration packs and shopping vouchers to Nadi and Vatukoula and donated ration packs and farming equipment to Nadrugu Village, Ba.

Those who wish to make donations can contact: 72449779/ 9001388/ 9728851.
