Shine a Light: The Delays on Pool, Courthouse

Residents of Lautoka are still waiting on two major Government projects promised for the development of Fiji’s second city.
The Lautoka High Court and the Lautoka swimming pool were both designed to become structures that will help boost the city.
In 2014, a groundbreaking ceremony was conducted for the $35million proposed Lautoka High Court.
Former Chief Justice Anthony Gates broke ground at the proposed site adjacent to the existing High Court.

The proposed High Court was to be the tallest building in Lautoka with five-storeys and 18 courtrooms.
