Lautoka Go For Consistency

After beating Navua 2-1 to extend their Digicel Premier League lead on the points table, the Lautoka football side aim to maintain their consistency.

Speaking to SUNsports head coach Imdad Ali said the Blues will play according to their opposition’s structure.

“We’ll probably play Suva so we’ll go back and analyse our game on the drawing board. We’ll improve on areas that we believe need changes,” Ali said.

“Our goal is to remain consistent. It all depends on the tactics that we will use on game day.

“In this match I tried to play no possession football so with other teams will set-up our tactics on how best to tackle them.

“We were on 13 points and are still leading without even playing any league matches.

“Even though we missed one game but now we are still leading with 16 points.

“For Lautoka this was our first game after a lapse of seven months.”

He added that heading into the next game there are a few areas they need to work on.

“We’ve to work on our finishing because we missed a few goal scoring opportunities that could have increased our tally.

“I know that Lautoka plays quality football so I requested the boys to play football and the goal will come.

“Moving to our remaining games I’ve always reminded the players to stay focused and be patient throughout the game.

“I trust my boys and they are playing really well especially during training.

“I’m pleased with their performance because they take things quite seriously and that has paved the way for our victory.”
