A group of Year 13 students were spotted at the Nadi Town bus stand yesterday eagerly waiting for their school bus to take them back to class after several months.

They were all students of Swami Vivekananda College, Nadi, and they displayed excitement at meeting their friends and classmates after a long period away from school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of them, Ulaiasi Natawake said he was looking forward to attending classes with his teachers.

Hailing from Nailuva in Ra, the 18-year-old said the pandemic might have kept them away from their learning environment, but through the efforts of the Ministry of Education, they were not left out of their learning schedules.

“Now we also felt safe going back to school because we are all vaccinated.”
