The former Minister for Forestry, FijiFirst Member of Parliament, Osea Naiqamu, was taken in for questioning by Police in Lautoka yesterday. The questioning is linked to his alleged involvement in the attempted takeover of the Fiji Pine Trust.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirmed Mr Naiqamu had been taken in for questioning yesterday and the matter was under investigation.
It is believed that late last month, Mr Naiqamu and others stormed into the Fiji Pine office in Lautoka and attempted to take over the operations.

Police intervened to calm the situation.

Following this the current Fiji Pine Trust Board filed a complaint. Mr Naiqamu is a former Fiji Pine Trust chief executive.

Mr Naiqamu resigned from his ministerial post due to health reason, but remains in Parliament.
