Suva Takes One Game At A Time

Online Rubber Stamp Suva hopes to retain the Digicel Premier League title.
After four consecutive losses, the capital city side bounced back last Sunday to defeat Rewa, 2-1 at the ANZ Stadium.
Captain, Iosefo Verevou said they have been preparing well and the win was crucial to get them on track again.
“That was our aim, to come out and win,” Verevou said.
“Our management, our coaching staff will review how we performed and what happened during the game,” he said.
“This is to improve our performance come the next game.”
Verevou was on the bench during most of Suva’s games last season but rose to the captaincy role when the seventh round resumed after six months of lockdown.
“I did not do much; all I did was leaving everything to God to lead me, leading my path to whatever I am achieving right now.
“We had a long break, six months or so, we have been preparing well and we will take each game at a time as we go on in our journey.”
Meanwhile, Suva‘s star striker Christopher Wasasala’s presence was an impact on the side on Sunday.
He returned to play after eight months of suspension.
Wasasala scored Suva’s winning goal through a penalty.
Wasasala said: “For a few months I did not play regarding some issues, I am coming back strong. I would like to thank the officials for trusting me to be part of the team and their giving me another chance.
“It was a crucial game for us, three points and we look forward to our next game.
“I have been away long, I have to prove myself to continue earning a spot in the team.
“Our aim in the long run, starting with Round 2, we have to win all the games.”
