For the first time Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) is broadcasting the FMF Sukuna Bowl games that will be held in Suva next month.

Yesterday FMF Sukuna Bowl 2021 hosts Fiji Police Force and FBC signed the Memorandum Of Understanding.

FBC Chief Executive officer, Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, indicated that the live broadcast will also be available for overseas rugby fans.

Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed that 33 per cent of the overseas viewers’ subscription will be directed to hosts Fiji Police Force.

“We are doing this for the first time and it is a great priviledge and honour to be part of something that is so traditional,” Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“It is going to be available for Fijian rugby fans overseas as well, on the FBC Pop Up per pay view channel.

“That will be available to anyone outside of Fiji for $10(USD), as there is a huge interest outside of Fiji.

“And we hope to continue this partnership in future for the next few years, at least.”

Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho said: “We have been through the pandemic, sustaining operations for a long time, and it’s a good time to be out among families and friends.

“We thank FMF and FBC for allowing us this opportunity with our counterparts from the military to be able to sit down and unwind with families.”

Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) national sales manager, Ganeshwar Mani said: “Ratu Sukuna Bowl is a prestigious event on the calendar, where Fijians eagerly wait to see the battle between the two disciplined forces.

“FMF has always been supporting sports in Fiji from the Chow Games to the Flying Fijians and will continue to do so in the years to come.

“FMF will always give back to its consumers with some specials that will be available from this week.”

The FMF Sukuna Bowl which is set for December 17 will be launched at 3pm tomorrow at Nasova.
