Poppy On Flying Fijians Jerseys

For the first time on Sunday the Vodafone Flying Fijians Test jersey will have the poppy embroidered on it.
Expect our Flying Fijians to run onto the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in their one off national jersey in respect to Remembrance Day, which will be observed before kickoff at 3.15am on Monday (Fiji time).
Yesterday, Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) Chief Executive Officer John O’Connor, while confirming Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama watching the Fij-Wales Test match, also said he would hand out the jerseys to the team.
“Wales will be celebrating Remembrance Day on the day. Out of respect, the Vodafone Flying Fijians will have the poppy embroidered on their jerseys,” O’Connor said.
Bainimarama is the FRU president.
“They are yet to send the programme over but we know that they (Wales) are celebrating Poppy Day on the day,” he said.
“For the first time we will have the poppy embroidered on the national rugby jersey.
“All the players, coaches and support staff were all from that side of the globe because of COVID-19.”
Fiji, like other Commonwealth countries, commemorates Remembrance Day in honour of the souls lost during the World Wars.
