Tikolevu And Prasad Get Fiji 50th Anniversary Medals

Fiji’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Jitoko Tikolevu and the Permanent Representative of Fiji to the United Nations, Satyendra Prasad were presented the 50th Anniversary of Independence Commemorative Medals yesterday.
Amidst the business of the UN COP26, the presentation was made behind closed doors by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
“This is to thank officers and executives for the service they provide to Fiji – you two gentlemen, I want to thank you on behalf of the people and government of Fiji for the service that you both provide.”
Both Mr Tikolevu and Mr Prasad are part of Fiji’s High Level Delegation at COP26.
After the ceremony, Mr Prasad said: “I am honoured to be given an opportunity to serve Fijians in my role as their Ambassador to the UN and deeply humbled to be recognised for services to Fiji and to Fijians across North America.”
Mr Tikolevu was also grateful and acknowledged the support from his wife, Luisa.
“I am privileged and honoured to receive the medal. I wish to thank Government and everyone for their support over the past many years as a civil servant,” the former chief executive officer of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service said.
“I wish to thank the Almighty God for his continuous guidance and blessings as well as my wife Luisa who was always supporting me.”
