More Games Needed, Says Serritslev

The Digicel national football team coach Flemming Serritslev is looking at the FIFA Window in January as an opportunity to play international matches.
Serritslev said not being able to play international matches is one of the major downfalls in their preparations for the Oceania qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The qualifiers is to be played in Qatar in March.
“I like to have some international matches in order to measure where we stand,” he told Fiji FA Media.
“It would help the players to assess themselves and see their fitness as well.
“It’s unfortunate that we are not able to play, but definitely we will be looking at the January FIFA window to arrange some matches.
“If we get the green light then we will name a strong team with a mixture of players to form the best team.”
The national reps have been playing regularly for their districts in the Digicel Premier League competition.
Serritslev said the COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on the team and that the national team were not able to play friendly international competitions.
He said their main focus is on the qualifiers and they would try to make the best use of the limited time for preparation.
