R.C. Manubhai presented the Fiji Cancer Society with their contribution to­wards the great work the society continues to do earlier this week.

According to the regional man­ager central Shanil Patel, it was important for R. C. Manubhai with this support and help raise awareness for early cancer detec­tion.

Awareness

Our organisation has carried our various awareness sessions in conjunction with the Fiji Can­cer Society and we continue to advocate for discussions within organizations on the advantages of early cancer detection.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we ensure that we have these awareness ses­sions with our team, they take the information shared home and share it with their friends and families.

Taboo culture

These are important conver­sations to be had as we need to break out of the “Taboo” culture and talk about issues that affect the livelihoods of individuals.

“We want to take the battle against cancer into a more pro­active mode, so we are not only creating awareness. We have had sessions with medical experts who have shared lifestyle habits which can help you reduce your risk of cancer as well.”

Our partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society has enabled us to share survivor stories with our team and continue to raise aware­ness not only during Pinktober or Movember but all year round fo­cusing on all types of cancer.

Contributions from businesses go a long way in not only help­ing the Fiji Cancer Society as­sist those suffering from cancer but also create the much-needed awareness on early detection.

Cancer is a disease that does not spare anyone however with our little contribution we would like to ensure we are able to put one more smile and give on more glimmer of hope to the people of Fiji.
