Navua coach Amit Prakash is confident of changing thing s around.

A win, two draws and six losses is a wake-up call for my players, says a senior football official.

Navua coach, Amit Prakash, made the comment after his team’s poor performance in the Digicel Premier League competition where they lost 2-0 to Suva at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour, Deuba on Sunday.

Speaking to SUNsports after the match, a concerned Prakash has urged his players to change their mindset.

“We still have another six games to play in the DPL,” he said.

“I want to remind the players that they may have lost the battle but the war has just begun.

“To avoid relegation, let’s change the way we do things and let’s work together to rebuild this team.

“We still have time on our side to improve on the way we play. Now it’s totally up to the players if we are to remain in the DPL or not.

“Relegating is easy but to try and come back is tough and these players know that very well.”

Prakash said players must know the purpose they are selected in the team.

“That goes with responsibility. I urge the players to change their attitude, be disciplined and stay focus on the job.

“Show up on game day with a positive mind and a never-say-die attitude.”

He said they (officials) have done all they can to support and look after the players.

“It’s for the players to do their part. We can do better.

“We have a good team that is a mixture of young and experienced players.

“Once we get things sorted, watch these boys perform.

“I believe in these players and so are the rest of the officials.
“We hope that come the next game we will be alright and improve on our game.”
