Aman Abhishek Nambiar, 20, rearrested By The Police Criminal Investigations Department

A tertiary student charged for allegedly obtaining money after threatening to release nude photos of another man on social media, has been ordered to deactivate his social media.
The alleged incidents occurred in March this year.
The accused, Aman Abhishek Nambiar, 20, allegedly created a fake profile as a woman and sought out potential victims online.
After carefully identifying his potential victims, he would send a friend request, and after gaining the victim’s trust would send sexual videos with a false hope of offering sexual favours.
The accused would then allegedly ask for sexually explicit photos from the victim.
Once received, the accused allegedly solicited $400 in exchange for the photos not to be posted on social media.
The accused has been charged with two counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception and appeared before Magistrate Liyanage Wickramasekara yesterday.
He is also wanted for similar cases in Tavua and Totogo.
Magistrate Wickramasekara ordered Nambiar to deactivate all his social media accounts under his name or any other name until the conclusion of his case.
He is also released on a surety bond of $2000 and ordered not to leave Viti Levu.
Nambiar is ordered to surrender all his travel documents, not to reoffend and not to interfere with witnesses.
A stop departure order is also issued against the accused.
The matter has been adjourned for mention on December 2.
Meanwhile, outside Court, Nambiar was rearrested by the Criminal Investigations Department for pending investigations relating to similar offences which is alleged to have occurred over a period of time.
