Frank Lomani’s Former Coach Sings High Praises

Frank Lomani could assist Peni Volavola at first five-eighth says. Nadroga rugby director Frank Boivert.
“Frank can replace Ben his acceleration and his peripheral vision gives him the edge. He likes to attack the line too,” Boivert said yesterday.
“Against Wales Frank showed class with his kicking. He has a solid kicking boot; his kicks would travel a long distance.”
“He can slot perfectly well at No 10, he is a good communicator on the pitch. Who knows he might be the missing fly half.”
Lomani is no stranger to Boivert as the latter had him under his wings when the scrum half was in the Nadroga side.
“With the Nadroga U20 team, we have a system where we had him take over at first five and have Number 19 play at nine when the ball is out wide to speed up the pace,” Boivert said.
“If only Frank was playing at number ten as well in the Melbourne Rebels or for the Fijian Drua side it would have been a different story.”
“We need some more players to cover for Ben.”
“His experience was vital against a wounded Welsh side in Cardiff. His (Volavola’s) lack of game time at Racing Metro played a huge role in the last two tests.”
“Volavola is the third choice first five at Racing Metro 92 and does not get to play much he has two fly halves ahead of him at least.”
If Boivert’s points are taken on board then Lomani can play first five and Nikola Matawalu moves to scrum-half.
