The Labasa football team are fully aware of the importance of winning against Nadroga in their Digicel Premier League match this weekend.

The side faces the Stallions at Lawaqa Park on Sunday at 3pm.

Babasiga Lions coach, Ravneel Pratap, said playing the underdogs Nadroga at their home turf would be a challenge as they are a quality team blessed with both experienced and young players.

“However, we need to win all our remaining matches to stand a chance of competing for the league title this season,” Pratap said.

Pratap says a win away from home is always a blessing and this weekend will be no different as Nadroga has previously held both Ba and Suva in their last two rounds of action.

The team currently has two injuries to star centre backs Lekima Gonerau and Iliesa Lino, who sustained injuries during the match against Rewa last weekend.

FIXTURES THIS WEEK:

Lautoka v Ba, 3pm

Sunday, ANZ Stadium, Suva

Suva v Nadi, 3pm

Pratap mentioned that goal-scoring remains a concern for them and this is a facet of the game they are working on addressing before the Nadroga game.

“Master Edwin Sahayam made a return to the squad last week and he is a player who has the ability to create goal-scoring chances for the team, he adds experience to our attack,” he added.

The Babasiga Lions sit in fifth place on the DPL standings with 11 points after claiming two wins and five draws.
