Two youth groups received open fibre boats and engines.

Veidrala Youth Fishing Co-operative of Ra, and Lovu Co-operative Limited of Gau, were each presented the vessel and engine by Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya.

The youth groups said they each expected to raise more money through the use of the vessel.

The profits from the use of the vessel would be set aside to purchase more marine vessels for the two communities, youth representative Bula Tora said.

During the presentation at Government Shipping Services in Walu Bay, Suva, Mr Koya said it was refreshing to witness the ingenuity of youth who set their business goals on a winning scale.

The vessels and engines were valued at $48,000, he said.
