The Daniel Krishneel coached- Ba football side have set their sight on a top two finish of the Digicel Premier League competition.

Ba came from behind to hold hosts Lautoka 1-1 at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Saturday.

What happened: Blues midfielder Muni Sivam drew first blood in the first half when he rifled a shot from the left hand side of the box which caught Ba goalkeeper Tevita Koroi off guard.

Halftime: Lautoka 1-0 Ba.

The visitors came back strongly with striker Samuela Drudru tapping in the equaliser with veteran goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara well beaten.

Lautoka were a man down after midfielder Atonio Tuivuna was red-carded after getting his second yellow card for a foul on Etonia Moceituba.

This took the sting out of Lautoka’s attack as Ba took control of play.

Comments: Ba Football Association president, Rynal Kumar said: “We came to try and take three points but it was a draw.

“This basically eliminates our chances of getting the top spot.”

“Mathematically, it is possible but realistically speaking it is really a hard task to try and win.”

“So what we have to do is to regroup and try for the second spot.”

“There is a lot to improve on. It is still a long way to go for us.”

“We have Rewa in an away game nest week and the rest are all home games.”

“We will take each game at a time.”

Lautoka coach Imdad Ali said: “Unfortunately, we went down to 10 players, but then the boys stood tall and we were able to draw with Ba.”

“There is nothing to take away from Ba.”

“They are a good team but my boys played according to the game plan.”

“The only thing that I did not want was a loss. We are still leading. We have 23 points so we will concentrate on the next game.”
