Lawyer Proudly Vouches for Wife

A practicing lawyer proudly moved a petition for his wife to be admitted to the bar.
Suva lawyer, Nilesh Prasad, stood in front of 45 new lawyers, including his wife and the legal fraternity to vouch for his Gold Medallist wife and Most Outstanding Law Graduate of her lot, Preeti Verma.
The pair have a 10-year-old son.
Ms Verma started her journey in pursuing law in February 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in April this year.
Ms Verma initially studied Bachelor of Business Marketing until she married a Mr Prasad who encouraged her to live her dream.
“I was the only child and being an Indo-Fijian girl in the household, it was not possible for me to travel outside of Fiji to study because at that time the law programme was not offered in Fiji,” Ms Verma said.
“I had to put my dream of being a lawyer on hold until I married my husband who is a lawyer by profession.”
“He encouraged and supported me to do live my dream.”
Ms Verma said her husband has been a pillar of support along with their parents who had helped her as she studied full time.
“I had to take a break from my professional career in order for me to pursue law because I knew it would not be easy to do both,” Ms Verma said.
“If I can do it, I know many others can do it because there is no limit to educating yourself and gaining what you want to in life at any age.”
The admission to the bar was done at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Friday.
