The spiritual commitments of Methodist Church stewards are believed to have been revitalized, thanks to a weeklong retreat for its church leaders.

The retreat was conducted at the Delaira Bible School, in Nailaga, Ba and attended by the stewards and lay preachers. It ended on Saturday.

Divisional Superintendent, Reverend Jokatama Rakubuivalu, said: “Our main message for the week was ‘Servanthood’. It includes their calling, the anointing of God, their spiritual experiences and mission.

“The long period of COVID-19 pandemic may have weakened our commitments and our calling on what God has ordained us with.

“The retreat was a way to refresh and revive us with the message that was conveyed to us.”

He said the retreat had prepared them for their church services as 2021 is coming to a close and the beginning of 2022 would begin over a month’s time.

Reverend Jokatama is expected to end his term in January 2022, to take up the role of Tui Cautata in the village of Cautata, Tailevu.
