Building up to this year’s Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) Ratu Sukuna Bowl clash, Army Rugby yesterday secured a $10,250 sponsorship in preparation for their annual clash against Police at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, on December 17.

Speaking during the cheque presentation ceremony, Subrails managing director Shiva Gounder said this was an important gesture as it was marked in their partnership.

“This is our second year of partnership with the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces in their Ratu Sukuna Bowl campaign,” Gounder said.

“We are excited to continue supporting them.”

“This is our gesture of appreciating their commitment to all Fijians during the six months of lockdown and not forgetting the Police as well.”

“I would like to wish the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces team all the very best in their Ratu Sukuna Bowl challenge.”

Army Rugby will now be known as Subrails Army.

RFMF Deputy Commander Humphrey Tawake thanked the Subrails family for their support.

“On behalf of the Commander and the RFMF family we would like to thank Subrails for the support they have given us over the years.”

“Not only in the Ratu Sukuna Bowl but in other areas that you have supported the RFMF in sevens and fifteens rugby,” he said.

“As the theme of this year’s Ratu Sukuna Bowl says, ‘Together We Can’. I think we’ve done a lot over the years.”

“The results is evident and the results is out there and you have been part of the journey in terms of rugby.”

“You’ve supported the Fiji Rugby Union and what accumulates now at the lower end of it within the forces is also a testament of your legacy and support to community rugby and forces rugby.”
