100 Years Of Change In Just 20 months Is The Focus, Says Batiweti

The experiences of the past 20 months of the COVID-19 pandemic can be likened to 100 years of change, says the Fiji Human Resources Institute.
Institute president, Kameli Batiweti’s remarks yesterday, in response to queries from SunBiz, sets the tone for the institute’s upcoming convention.
Scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, the convention will be held at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Nadi, and is expected to draw hundreds of participants.
“Fiji is coming out of approximately 20 months of issues associated with the pandemic, that has resulted in devastation to the economy,” Mr Batiweti said.
“What we have just experienced is a 100-year matter.”
Broadening perspective
The convention will focus on the experiences of the past 20 months, and the new normal, he said.
The Bank South Pacific Life 2021 Fiji Human Resources Institute annual convention’s theme is, Workforce Transformation: Step Up and Be Business Focused.
“The event is about broadening one’s perspective and appreciation of the role of human resources in respective organisations,” Mr Batiweti said.
“Organisations that do not take human resources seriously, do so at their own peril.
“Human resources is now considered a significant partner in each company, in pursuit for business success.”
