Foreign Vessel Awaits Delivery Of Spare Parts

Foreign cargo vessel Capitaine Magellan is awaiting delivery of spare parts to work through repairs on the vessel.
Earlier this month, the vessel had experienced unexpected issues with its generator when it arrived in Fiji.
While technical team from the shipping company were working to address the problem, the completion of the repairs depended on availability of spare parts in Fiji.
In a statement this week, Neptune Pacific Direct Line advised that technical team continued to work through repairs to the Capitaine Magellan.
“Whilst we have loaded cargo for Vanuatu and New Zealand on the vessel we continue to await delivery of essential spares into Fiji.”
“Currently her updated estimated time of departure from Suva is 24th November.”
Capitaine Wallis v380 had also experience technical issues earlier this month following her call in Funafuti.
The vessel had returned to Suva to obtain the parts required for the repairs.
Neptune Pacific Direct Line stated that repair works on the vessel were completed over the weekend. The vessel is enroute vessel to TARAWA and expected to arrive there today.
