Now Or Never For Labasa

The Labasa football will need to win both their Digicel Premier League matches this weekend if they are to finish as one of the top two teams.
Today, the Babasiga Lions host DPL points table leaders Lautoka at Subrail Park and tomorrow they face Navua at the same venue.
Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap knows the importance of the two matches and has indicated that he wants a win.
The Lions have remained unbeaten in the DPL but Pratap knows they need to the six points from the two matches.
At the resumption of the competition, Labasa were held to a 1-1 draw against Rewa and last Sunday’s clash against Nadroga ended on a scoreless draw.
“We are unbeaten but we need to win some games because most of our game ended in a draw,” Pratap told Fiji FA Media.
Labasa missed some of their key players through injury but Pratap is hopeful that they’ll recover in time for the Lautoka match.
“I’m sure we will do our best in our next games,” said Pratap.
“We will need to work on our finishing as we are not getting the goals,”
Pratap has urged Labasa fans to come out in big numbers tomorrow and Sunday to support the team.
“I request fans to come out and support the team this weekend. We need to win both games, “said Pratap.
However, Lautoka under wily coach Imdad Ali will be gunning for a win to boost their chances of winning the DPL title.
The Blues will be boosted by the presence of star striker Sairusi Nalaubu, classy midfielder Dave Radrigai, Zibraaz Sahib, Sitiveni Cavuilagi and Malakai Rakula.
Labasa take on Lautoka today at 1pm and Navua on Sunday at the same time.
Former stars to coach Nadi
Two former stars have been appointed to coach the Esy Kool Nadi football team in their remaining matches in the Digicel Premier League.
The Nadi Football Association posted on their social media page that they have accepted the resignation of head coach Shalen Lal.
Stepping in is Viliame Toma to be the head coach and he will be assisted by Emosi Baleinuku.
Toma had coached Nadi in 2017.
Baleinuku, was a former national star striker who had captained Nadi to many memorable victories.
The duo are expected to do wonders after Nadi losses to Ba, Rewa and Suva in their DPL matches.
