Terio Tamani: I’m Ready To Assist Nacuqu

Fiji Airways Fijian men’s 7s halfback Terio Tamani is confident of making the 12-member squad and assist playmaker Waisea Nacuqu in this weekend’s second round of the HSBC World Sevens Series in Dubai.
The Ravitaki, Kadavu native had to miss out last weekend’s competition after he arrived late due to visa iss issue.
He knows that the pressure will be on them as they seek to improve on their fourth place finish.
For Tamani, he will be looking to stamp his mark in the series after a lapse of two years.
In an interview with SUNsports, Tamani said, he is ready to assist Nacuqu.
“After sorting my visa, I need to get to Dubai because I have a job to do,” he said.
“I’ll have to assist Nacuqu because he is the lone playmaker in the team.”
“We may have some of the new boys that are utility players but they don’t have the exposure and the experience.”
Tamani said the new players played well in the first tournament and some of them have adapted to the pace and intensity of the series.
“Nacuqu looked tired in last weekend’s game because he had to carry the load on his shoulder so I’m ready to step and assist him.”
After falling short in the Cup semifinal against USA and a Bronze final to Argentina, they need to be smart on how they play this weekend.
Nacuqu and Tamani play an important role as they lead from the front due to the absence Jerry Tuwai.
Nacuqu, Tuwai along Filipe Sauturaga and Joseva Talacolo are members of the Police Blue team that won the Fiji Rugby Union sanctioned- Super Sevens Series.
Their other Police team members Kitione Taliga, Kalione Nasoko and Rusiate Nasove have joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Fijian Drua for next year’s Super Rugby Pacific competition.
