Let’s Go Local: Taveuni-born Chef Wants To Return Home

Paul Mckenzie is a popular face in Suva’s central business district.
He owns and operates Zoom Catering, a door-to-door food delivery service.
“Most people know me as the sandwich man,” Mr Mckenzie said.
He operates his business out of his Kula Street home in Samabula, and delivers home-made meals to corporate houses, from Monday to Friday.
Mr Mckenzie comes from an Australian culinary background.
“I am a qualified chef from Australia,” he said.
Zoom Catering, which also accepts pre-orders and caters for events, was established five years ago, he said.
Mr Mckenzie says he loves his job because it gets him out of the house almost daily.
“I also get to be my own boss,” Mr Mckenzie said.
“You have to have a deeper appreciation for the people, the places you cater to, and the service, to be in this business.
