Nadroga football coach Kamal Swamy is now searching for a young finisher following the side’s six draws and one win,

Known for developing and identifying young players Swamy said finding the good and young finisher is his assignment preparing for next season.

In this year’s Digicel Premier League competition the Stallions have acquired the services of former Nadi striker Rusiate Matererega and veteran Osea Vakatalesau.

Speaking to SUNSports Swamy said it was time to look for a young player.

“We are blessed to have the experience of Rusiate and Osea in the team,” Swamy said.

“It is time to look for a young striker that can understudy these two players.

“I want to get a striker that can finish off our moves, I believe finishing is an area of our game that we struggle to keep up with.

“In some games we were leading and then we gave the match away to either a draw or a loss because our finishing was not good.

“For now, since school is still closed till next year I’m keeping my options open.

“To recruit a young striker now is a bonus because these two (Matererega and Vakatalesau) players can help him grow.

“Young players bring in new ideas that will help the team grow.”

Meanwhile the Stallions are working on their transition when they face Rewa at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this Sunday.

“We know Rewa is a very good side with some entertaining players,” Swamy said.

“Rewa loves to play structured football so we have to be smart in both attacking and defending.

“Our transition from attack to defense has to be good and we have been working on that.

“We will have to make sure that we start well and that our finishing is on point.

“I urge the Nadroga fans to come out in numbers and support the boys this Sunday.”
