Ranjit Garments Joins ‘I Don’t Accept Bribes’ Campaign

Ranjit Garments (MFG) Pte Ltd last month became the first private sector institution to join the “I Don’t Accept Bribes” campaign.

Speaking during the launch via zoom, company director, Sachin Solanki, thanked the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) and the United Nations Pacific Regional Anti-Corruption (UN-PRAC) Project for providing the opportunity to Ranjit Garments to participate in the campaign.

“My brother Kalpesh and I both feel very strongly about this subject because it has been instilled within us from our parents who started this company almost 38 years ago,” Mr Solanki said.

“The value of hard work and smart work in doing business is the foundation of what Ranjit Garments is built on.”

Mr Solanki further stated that the values of the company have always been stressed to its management and staff with necessary checks and balances in place to ensure transparency exists when conducting normal day-to-day business.

“We are proud to be associated with UN and FICAC’s anti-corruption campaign and we are confident our Ranjit Garments team will gain a better perspective of this important issue,” he said.

FICAC manager corruption prevention, Kolora Naliva, said it was an honour for the team from the both the commission and UN to be at  the launch because it marked the scaling up of the Integrity Campaign and the Anti-Bribery Campaign in the private sector.

Ms Naliva stressed to the mnanagement team of the vital role they each play in creating an anti-bribery culture within the workforce and being committed to their integrity.

“We are implementing the campaign to all institutions here in Fiji because it is very important to do so in the context of ensuring transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery to all citizens of Fiji” Ms Naliva said.

Ms Naliva urged Ranjit Garments to adopt proactive approaches to prevent corruption in its supply chain and to establish clear policies backed by control measures.
