Youths Assist Families In Need During Festive Season

Youths who are part of the Providing Young Generation Movement in Every Society (PYGMIES) group have made a commitment to assist needy families during this festive season.
Group founder and president, Josateki Labalaba said he was proud to be part of enthusiastic youths who were dedicated to helping members of their communities.
Mr Labalaba said the group recently assisted a family of three, a mother and her two children who reside in their one-bedroom flat in Naikabula, Lautoka.
Mother, Vishnu Banu takes care of her son Janendra Sami who is sickly and Kamal who is a special needs child.
Mr Labalaba said he met up with Ms Banu in Lautoka town requesting for assistance.
“They needed help, so I made sure that we gave them the help. We helped clean up their compound and made sure their house was clean before we left.”
He said the work was not to impress the public but to be a reminder to all youths to help those in need.
“I am just encouraging our youths to please take care of those who need help, don’t discriminate but help,” he said.
“Government is doing their part in helping these people, but we also have to do our part.”
