Jokhan Realtors Ltd has grown from strength to strength.

The Lautoka branch was launched by the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Premila Kumar, last Saturday at Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka.

The Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum also recently launched the Jokhan Realtors Ba branch.

Headquartered in Suva, the company shareholders are managing director Reginald Jokhan senior and his son, director Reginald Jokhan Jnr.

Mr Jokhan senior said: “When I returned from England in the middle of 1997, I decided to open a real estate company.”

“I must thank my father and father in law because both were in the construction business, which is where my interest originated.”

“Finally, Jokhan Realtors became operational in early 2000.”

“I started in a small office at my home and was a single operator.”

“I still remember in the early days overseas companies were coming into Fiji.”

“As a small operator this was a big challenge to my business.”

“Without any financial backing it was an even more difficult experience.”

“To survive, to grow I had to think of creating a niche which would add value to the business and I decided to concentrate on property management.”

He believes Jokhan Realtors was the first company to offer property management services to an international standard.

“I had to do a lot of research around property management services because it was a new concept and to grow in a market with not only overseas providers but a very fast-growing industry, I had to be certain that this venture did not fail.”

He highlighted that the Jokhan Realtors services are second to none offered in developed countries.

“This has been the strength of Jokhan Realtors and my knowledge in construction helped with this.”

“Today I have 30 staff located in three offices.”

“We manage over 120 properties worth over $100 million, and over 300 tenants that we manage.”

“In addition to this we offer sales and rental services too.”

“Jokhan Realtors offers property services at one address.”

“As a company we engage the services of more than 15 large and small contractors with a few hundred staff, for minor and major maintenance work on a regular basis.”

“The vision of Jokhan Realtors Ltd is to manage financial assets in the form of real estate in the most efficient way, while providing optimum services to our clients. To become the premier real estate service provider in the country.”

“One of the ways we realise this vision is by attracting and bringing more local and foreign investors into the economy.”

“These local and foreign investors bring in capital into the economy through their investments in real estate”

“We have a genuine interest in the welfare of our clients and believe in honest and ethical operations.”

“We have a simple rule and that is: Do not lie to rent or sell a property.”

Lautoka Office:
He noted that many clients have been with them for many years, including some of them present.

“You may be wondering why we opened in Lautoka.”

“Over the years we have found that there was a need for a reputable company with extensive experience in real estate in Lautoka.”

“We did our research and were convinced that we will be able to provide this service to Lautoka too.”

“Our office is in the Popular Building in Lautoka City.”

“I would like to thank the directors and family of Shah Investment for giving us the opportunity to open a branch in their building.”

“We currently have six staff based in our Lautoka office, all of whom are new to the industry except the manager of the branch.”

“This has been the motto of Jokhan Realtors.”

“We hire people who are keen to work in real estate and we teach them the business.”

“In this way we give opportunities to people to shape a new career for themselves.”

Mr Jokhan senior shared that no one person can succeed in life without strong support from their family.

“I thank my wife and children for their unwavering support and guidance.”

“I am fortunate that our son decided to join the business after having done a degree and postgraduate studies at USP.”

“He has brought new ideas into the company and in this way our approach to doing business continues to be improved.”
