President Ratu Wiliame Ka­tonivere met with heads of departments of various Gov­ernment agencies at the Commis­sioner Western’s office in Lautoka yesterday.

The Head of State also met with the Fiji Meteorology acting direc­tor Terry Atalifo, Lautoka City Council chief executive Anees Khan, staff of Ministry of Health, Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, Ba Provincial Council and district representatives.

Commissioner Western Mesake Ledua said the courtesy visit was to allow the head of each depart­ment to meet the President in person in his first official meeting since taking office.

Mr Ledua said: “It was an im­portant visit to meet with HOD’s and be updated on the respective projects and the highlights in the Western Division. He thanked the staff for their diligent work in the couple of months and including during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Ratu Wiliame also visited the Lo­lolo training area outside Lautoka city.
