The importance of finding solutions to domestic violence was highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar last week.
Ms Akbar speaking at the closing of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi last Friday.
“Research now says that domestic violence is preventable. We can bring it to zero rates, not in years and decades,” she said.
Ms Akbar said government and her ministry believes in equality.
“I believe there are good men who will teach their son’s to be gentlemen. Men can be ambassadors to domestic violence and say no to domestic violence.”
