The timely donation of Bula shirts has boosted the morale of the Police rugby development side, says manager Orisi Kunakata.

Yesterday, Ram Sami and Sons Limited stepped in to outfit the side prior to the 63rd FMF Ratu Sukuna Bowl challenge, which kicks off today at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.

Speaking to Sunsports at the presentation at the Wallsons boardroom in Valelevu yesterday Kunakata said the assistance was timely.

“On behalf of the Commissioner of Police we would like to thank Ram Sami for their kind assistance,” Kunakata said.

“This kind gesture will surely boost the morale of the team heading into tomorrow’s (today) game against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

“This is the Police development team; they are the future Police players who will play in the Sukuna Bowl senior teams in years to come.

“We know it is going to be a tough game but we are ready to give our opponents a good run for their money.”

Kunakata said they are going in to give their best.

Ram Sami Business Development Manager Abdul Shameer said it was an honour to sponsor the Police development side.

“Here at the Ram Sami and Sons we believe in rugby and to be involved with the Sukuna Bowl is new for us,” Shameer said.

“We are honoured to assist the Police development side,” he said.

“There is a lot of rivalry in this competition, like I’ve said we have always supported the RFMF but this year we wanted to try something new.

“We want to wish both the Police and the Army sides all the very best.”

Draws for the Development teams match at the ANZ Stadium. 1pm arrival of both teams (development), arrival of chief guest, chief guest meets both teams. 1.30pm Development match kicks off.
