Legend Is Going Down: Singh

Uptown boxing star Nathan ‘The Hornet’ Singh is adamant of sending his opponent, Junior Farzan Ali to the canvas on January 29 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

The two will face off in the featherweight contest (8×3) under the South Pacific Boxing Promotions banner, marking the first event for the year.

Singh, 22, has only four bouts under his belt, including three wins and one loss since he turned professional in October, 2019. He had a remarkable record in the amateur division.

He said Junior Farzan ‘The Razor’ Ali is a respected boxer but has way past his prime.

“Legend going down is history, come January 29. Farzan you are out,” he said.

“Train hard and wait for the good, sometimes you have to take some steps back to jump forward.”

Singh’s first pro defeat was against Ronald Naidu in the vacant Fijian Super Lightweight title in March 2021 at the same venue.

He thanked his major sponsor Bluegas and its director Ajai Punja for collaborating with his camp, Uptown Boxing Club.

Meanwhile, Ali, a veteran boxer has a total of 43 bouts in his career since he turned professional in May, 1999.

He has won 29 (20 K0’s), 11 losses (7 KO’s) and three draws during this boxing career.
