Lining up at 8am yesterday, Vimal Vikash waited outside the Kshatriya Hall in Lautoka to get his booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The 42-year-old of Drasa Vitogo, Lautoka was there as Police officers stationed at the hall prioritised members of the public aged 60 and over and also ensured that social distancing and mask-wearing was strictly adhered to.

Mr Vikash said he received his first dose of the AstraZeneca on May 3, last year, and his second dose on July 26.

“This one is different because it’s Moderna for the booster. I don’t feel anything after taking it, I also took it because I am working in plumbing. My advice to people is do not be afraid, just take it because this is okay,” he said.

He said he was the sole breadwinner and resides with his 80-year-old mother, who had also taken her booster dose.
