The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is currently rolling out the doses of the Moderna booster vaccines until all is fully utilised.

Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Service Dr James Fong said more doses would arrive into the country at the end of January for those who are not able to receive their dose now.

Dr Fong said the rollout daily would depend on the availability of the vaccine in allocated sites.

He added that with the endemic nature of the Delta variant, surge in cases in the Northern Division and the expected arrival of the Omicron variant, the need for the booster shots, together with maintaining COVID-safe measures was vital.

He said not only does a booster dose ensure that protection against COVID-19 was stronger and longer lasting, it also helps prevent the spread of the virus.

The ministry has also reiterated that all COVID-19 vaccination venues were scheduled to close at 3pm daily.

They have advised members of the public that booster vaccination sites are likely to change daily; this would depend on the doses available on a daily basis.

The ministry has also urged individuals who are accessing the vaccination services after midday to arrive at the venue at least by 1.30pm to ensure that they are served on the particular day.

The ministry intends to continue keeping the public updated.
