Doctors have been deployed to medical centres facing shortage of staff and tents will be set up again for visitors.

This has been confirmed by the Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete after claims were been made on social media that there is a shortage of staff at health centres.

Some also made claims that there was a shortage of tents to provide shelter to visitors.

Dr Waqainabete said some of their staff in Raiwaqa and Samabula have been serving their seven days isolation after being tested COVID-19 positive.

He said they had clinic tents set up which had to be put down due to the weather. He thanked the Acting Medical Superintendent of CWM Hospital, Doctor Luke Nasedra for providing support to the health centres.

“We are making sure that there are enough doctors to help and we might also expect staff that have COVID to isolate.”
