Nestle Fiji handed over a cheque of $75,000 on Monday to the Tonga Volcano and Tsunami Appeal.

The appeal was organised by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to provide support towards recovery.

Nestle Fiji General Manager Tim Inkster said: “The funds will go to help the IFRC to bolster their relief effort in Tonga and most importantly, provide immediate assistance to those affected by this natural disaster.”

IFRC Pacific Head of Delegation Katie Greenwood said: “The stocks that we have need to be replenished as soon as we can get additional supplies in there to supply fresh water and tarpaulins to cover water tanks to make sure that ash does not get in there.”
