Shift Focus To Next 7s Leg: Bobo

Missing the fourth round of the HSBC Sevens Series in Spain is a blessing in disguise for the Fijian men’s 7s team says former Fiji 7s wing Sireli Bobo.
He believes it is the right time for Coach Ben Gollings to work closely with his team before they return to play in the HSBC Sevens Series.
Speaking to SUNSports Bobo said the team should now focus on the next tournament.
“This is the perfect time for Ben to start working on his combination,” he said.
“Time is one our side, we don’t need to play overseas to get quality opponent and good matches.
“The 2020 Olympic gold medal team proved that playing against local teams laid the platform for the win.
“The team should use this time to reset and refocus on their game.
“We should look at the positive side of things, now the team have more time to prepare well for upcoming tournaments.
“This the perfect time for the time to lift up their training to another level because we have missed a few tournaments.
“I hope they fill a team to play in the Super Sevens Series so the players have some game time to gauge their match fitness.

“We always have to be switched on and focus on the mission ahead.
Bobo added Golling has been given an opportunity to have a look at some new players.
“This is a great opportunity for Ben to identify some new talents from around Fiji,” he said.
“Some very good and consistent players have been knocking on the door for quite a while, I won’t be surprised Gollings will pick them.
“He will surely begin at the Super 7s Series next month and other tournaments that might happen later.
“There are a lot more good players out there and Ben knows that very well.”
